Join the Directory Response Team

The Directory Response Team (DRT) is a network of volunteers and professionals who help keep the Directory alive and accurate. Members reach out to organizations, verify details, collect stories, and ensure that every entry reflects the real people and programs making an impact in Louisville.

Joining the DRT is a chance to build relationships, strengthen connections, and contribute directly to the health of our city’s violence prevention ecosystem.

The future of the Directory depends on shared creativity and ongoing partnership. We invite individuals, organizations, and networks to help shape what comes next.

Phases and What's Next

About the Directory

The Directory began in 2022 as a shared spreadsheet built by community members who wanted to better understand the landscape of violence prevention efforts across Louisville. Over time, nearly a hundred people have contributed updates, verified information, and added new organizations—creating one of the most comprehensive, community-sourced tools of its kind in the city.

With continued partnership from the Office for Violence Prevention (OVP), The Alliance for Violence Reduction and Community Safety, and 50/50 Mentoring Collaborative, the Directory is now moving online to make information easier to find and share.
While the platform may evolve, the spirit behind it remains the same: a collaborative effort built on trust, transparency, and mutual care.

Our Shared Purpose

Our violence prevention community is made up of hundreds of organizations, neighbors, and volunteers working every day to make our city safer and more connected.

Louisville’s Community Violence Prevention Directory was created to help all of us see and strengthen those connections—making it easier to find who’s doing what, where, and with whom.

This tool belongs to all of us. It grows through the stories, relationships, and updates that community members and organizations contribute. Together, we’re mapping Louisville’s collective effort to reduce violence and build well-being.
